Job Description

Leads WFP disability-inclusion work on partnerships, accessibility and programme quality. The consultant engages organisations of persons with disabilities, strengthens consultation and accessibility systems, supports regional plans, guides UNDIS implementation, delivers training, embeds inclusion in recruitment and human-resources practice, and develops policy and monitoring approaches.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead engagement with organisations of persons with disabilities at global and regional levels
  • Update guidance and consultation systems that support accessible and inclusive representation
  • Advance accessibility standards for WFP buildings, ICT, conferences and services
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building to regional and country offices
  • Support disability-inclusion mainstreaming in country strategic plans and corporate reporting
  • Guide steering committees and working groups on UNDIS 2.0 implementation
  • Deliver training on consultation, accessibility and reasonable accommodation
  • Embed disability inclusion in recruitment, retention and career-development processes

Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, development studies, international relations, sociology or a relevant field
  • At least six years of progressively responsible professional experience in development projects or humanitarian assistance, including at least two years dedicated to disability inclusion
  • Field and policy-oriented experience working on disability inclusion
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in operational research and programme design
  • Knowledge of the normative framework on disability inclusion
  • Experience coordinating disability-inclusion work
  • Experience developing guidance and training
  • Previous UN experience, preferably with WFP
  • Strong analytical and writing skills
