Job Description

Leads UNOPS HR services across Central Africa operations, applying policies and procedures consistently. Based in Yaounde, the specialist implements workforce initiatives, advises management on sensitive personnel matters, oversees recruitment and contracts, manages the HR team, and delivers learning, analytics and knowledge-sharing support with regional and headquarters colleagues.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Implement corporate HR strategies and projects using workforce data and country-specific practices
  • Advise management on HR policies, people-management needs and personnel matters
  • Support complex employee-relations cases, including grievances and workplace disputes
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, benefits and contract administration
  • Lead personnel realignment, competency mapping, sourcing and placement initiatives
  • Manage the HR team and coordinate high-quality service delivery
  • Facilitate HR learning, knowledge-sharing and reporting

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 7 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 5 years
  • Experience in recruitment, HR contract administration, employee relations, organization design and development, or related areas
  • Experience using collaboration and productivity tools and web-based management systems
  • Fluent English
  • Fluent French

Desired Criteria

  • Professional certificate in Human Resource Management
  • Experience in multicultural environments or UN system organizations in a developing country
  • Experience in development or humanitarian contexts
