Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare the health programme using a systems-strengthening approach
- Manage, implement, monitor, evaluate and report progress for a health-programme sector
- Provide technical and operational support to programme implementation
- Advance advocacy, policy, financing, planning and accountability for child and adolescent health
- Build networks and partnerships that influence health-system reforms
- Support innovation, knowledge management and capacity building
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in public health, nutrition, paediatric or family health, health research, global health, health policy or management, environmental health sciences, biostatistics, socio-medical studies, health education, epidemiology or a related technical field
- At least five years of professional experience in public health planning and management, maternal and neonatal health care, or health emergency and humanitarian preparedness
- Strong technical expertise in public health focused on maternal, newborn and child health
- Programme management skills including results-based management
- Proven upstream advocacy and evidence-based stakeholder engagement skills
- Open to nationals of India only
Desired Criteria
- MBBS with MD in Community Medicine
- Experience strengthening large-scale government health programmes and systems
- Experience in upstream advocacy, strategic communication, stakeholder convening, partner coordination or resource mobilization
- Experience with a UN system agency or organization
- Health emergency preparedness and response experience for the Guwahati position
- Experience working in a developing country
