Job Description

The Head of Sub Office supports IOM’s Táchira office and programme portfolio, coordinating institutional procedures, programme delivery and donor reporting. The post maintains government and partner relationships, contributes to project development, monitors safety and security, identifies operational risks and corrective actions, and keeps senior management informed of implementation progress.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Sub-Office activities and implement IOM institutional procedures
  • Participate in meetings with government authorities, international organizations, NGOs, voluntary agencies, media and private-sector actors
  • Maintain working relationships with government authorities, international organizations, NGOs and other stakeholders
  • Contribute inputs to project development and proposal formulation
  • Monitor safety and security procedures for staff, premises and assets with UNDSS and relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinate implementation and reporting of programme activities in line with IOM standards and donor agreements
  • Update senior management on programme progress, achievements and donor-liaison issues
  • Identify operational challenges and propose corrective actions

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, international relations, development studies, migration studies, human rights, law or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience, or a master’s degree in those fields
  • Experience in humanitarian, emergency, migration or development programmes
  • Full fluency in English and Spanish

  • Experience working in post-conflict or emergency operations
  • Experience working in the region
