Job Description

Coordinates UNICEF Supply Division’s financing partnerships and solutions work to help governments secure essential supplies for children. The specialist will support Vaccine Independence Initiative operations, resource mobilisation and donor reporting, improve procurement forecasts, and advise country counterparts on budgets, financing instruments, credit facilities and supply planning.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day supply-financing operations for UNICEF Supply Division
  • Support resource mobilisation and donor reporting for the Vaccine Independence Initiative and other pre-financing sources
  • Coordinate Procurement Services forecast exercises for Division and Country Office resource planning
  • Analyse country budget processes and monitor procurement forecast materialisation
  • Support Ministries of Health and Finance to access UNICEF’s Vaccine Independence Initiative revolving fund
  • Engage Supply Division units, regional and country offices, partners and donors to coordinate supply-financing work

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in financial management, economics, accounting, audit, risk management, business administration, international development finance or a related field
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in development finance, risk management, investment banking, finance, public finance, health economics, accounting or auditing
  • Experience with Ministries of Health or Finance on financing, budgeting, procurement or commercial issues related to health products
  • Experience with credit facilities, revolving funds or lending portfolios
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Fluency in French
  • Knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish
  • Relevant country-level experience in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
