Job Description

IOM seeks a UN Volunteer field worker for earthquake-study data collection in Malatya. The assignment involves preparing surveys, engaging migrant and host communities and safeguarding confidential responses. By using mobile tools, escalating incomplete interviews and sharing daily findings, the volunteer will help deliver dependable data for humanitarian programming.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Prepare a fieldwork plan for surveys in earthquake-affected provinces
  • Interview host and migrant community members using quantitative and qualitative approaches
  • Respect confidentiality, data-protection principles and informed consent
  • Communicate daily with the IOM team about progress and interview completion
  • Operate designated mobile data-collection tools in accordance with project guidance
  • Escalate field issues and record observations for the IOM team

  • Previous experience in field data collection, surveys or assessments
  • Experience working with migrants, refugees or displaced populations
  • Experience using KoboToolbox or ODK
