Job Description

ICRC seeks a mobile Emergency Medicine Specialist for global field deployment. The specialist will lead emergency-department operations and patient care, supervise staff, train teams in trauma and mass-casualty response, establish protocols and quality indicators, prepare departments for incidents, analyse data, and strengthen emergency-care systems with hospitals and authorities.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead Emergency Department clinical operations and high-quality emergency care
  • Provide triage, resuscitation, trauma management and referral coordination
  • Supervise and mentor physicians, nurses and healthcare professionals
  • Deliver training in emergency medicine, trauma care and mass-casualty management
  • Develop SOPs, treatment guidelines, clinical pathways and quality indicators
  • Lead preparedness and response for mass-casualty incidents

Role Requirements

  • Medical degree with recognized Emergency Medicine specialization
  • Current Emergency Medicine specialist registration
  • Minimum three years post-specialization Emergency Medicine experience
  • Fluency in spoken and written English at C1

Desired Criteria

  • ATLS or equivalent certification and instructor status
  • French, Spanish or Arabic at B2
  • Austere, conflict-affected or humanitarian-setting experience
