Implements and monitors ICRC health programmes in the Mekele area, working with health teams, authorities and humanitarian partners. The officer assesses population needs, supports health-facility services and referrals, analyzes context and project data, coordinates assistance and health-care-in-danger initiatives, and helps ensure safe, responsive and continuous care for vulnerable communities.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Implement health programmes in the assigned geographic area
- Support operational strategy and planning for health programmes at facility, local and national levels
- Conduct assessments and field visits to monitor health activities and threats to the population
- Collect, manage and report health information and analyze the overall health situation
- Coordinate with health authorities, humanitarian stakeholders and ICRC partners
- Support medical and non-medical donations and referrals for targeted health facilities
- Develop Health Care in Danger initiatives and report incidents with the protection department
Role Requirements
- Degree in medicine, nursing or midwifery
- Licence to practice in Ethiopia
- Fluent written and spoken Tigrigna and English
- 3 to 5 years of total work experience including 2 years of clinical experience and at least 2 years in the humanitarian sector
- Open to Ethiopian nationals only
