Job Description
Develops electromechanical systems for manufacturing and assembling high-temperature superconducting magnets within CERN's R&D programme. The engineer integrates mechanical, electrical and control technologies for coil production, maintains laboratory infrastructure, coordinates component logistics and acceptance testing, and produces documentation that safeguards quality and traceability.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Design and implement systems for high-temperature-superconductor-based coil production
- Integrate mechanical, electrical and control aspects under safety regulations and industry standards
- Maintain machinery, electromechanical systems and laboratory infrastructure
- Prepare procedures, test reports and component-traceability documentation
- Coordinate component logistics, stock and manufacturing requests
- Perform or organise acceptance tests for components and assemblies
Role Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Electro-mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Valid driving licence
- Eligibility as a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State
- Work in radiation-controlled areas
- Interventions in underground installations
- Spoken and written English or French with commitment to learn the other language
Desired Criteria
- Experience with CAD tools for electromechanical design
- Experience with superconducting systems
