Editing Consultant

Copy-edits specialized ITU-T Recommendations and technical publications for clarity, consistency and conformity with editorial standards. The consultant reviews language, layout, graphics, tables, formulas, symbols and typography, resolves ambiguities with authors, and delivers publication-ready documents.

• Copy-edit specialized English-language ITU-T publications
• Apply ITU-T editing, style and presentation standards
• Review the layout of text, graphics, tables and formulas
• Correct language, consistency, capitalization and typography issues
• Verify that symbols and technical characters are legible
• Consult authors or technical colleagues to resolve ambiguities and inconsistencies

• University degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, literature, journalism, communications or a related field, or secondary or technical education plus a relevant diploma and five years of qualifying experience
• Three years of experience editing or drafting technical telecommunications documents
• Advanced English

• Experience copy-editing Recommendations or other technical standards is desirable
• Knowledge of another ITU official language is advantageous
