Overview

ITU is establishing a roster of consultants to support emergency telecommunications and disaster management work, including the UN Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative. Consultants provide technical assistance coordination, research on public warning systems, and support for the Disaster Connectivity Map.

Responsibilities

  • Support the warning dissemination and communication pillar of the EW4All initiative
  • Coordinate technical assistance and country workshops with regional offices and partners
  • Research public warning systems, regulations and platforms
  • Support EW4All communication and fundraising efforts
  • Provide analytical support to the Disaster Connectivity Map
  • Support preparation and organization of meetings and seminars

Requirements

  • University degree in international relations, development studies, engineering, business management or international policy
  • At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in emergency telecommunications, disaster risk reduction and management, or early warning systems
  • Advanced English required
