Job Description

ITU seeks consultants to support member states in developing National Emergency Telecommunication Plans (NETP) and implementing mobile early warning systems under the UN Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative. The role involves coordinating with governments, GSMA and mobile network operators on cell broadcast and location-based SMS alerting.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support development of National Emergency Telecommunication Plans
  • Support implementation of mobile early warning systems using cell broadcast and SMS

  • Support country workshops and technical assistance under EW4All
  • Prepare reports and documentation on disaster preparedness projects

Role Requirements

  • University degree relevant to emergency telecommunications, disaster management or related field
  • Progressively responsible experience in emergency telecommunications, disaster risk reduction and management, or early warning systems
  • Advanced English required
