National Consultant for Provision of Translation/Interpretation Services to UN Women Indonesia (Retainer)

Provide retainer translation and interpretation services for UN Women Indonesia, making communications and programme materials accessible in Bahasa Indonesia and English. The consultant translates and revises publications, reports and advocacy materials; delivers simultaneous interpretation for events and missions; researches terminology; and assures quality deliverables for assigned teams.

• Translate publications, reports, documents, presentations and communications materials between English and Bahasa Indonesia
• Revise translations and resubmit corrected documents within agreed timeframes
• Provide simultaneous interpretation at events, meetings, workshops, conferences and field missions
• Interpret speeches, presentations and discussions in both language directions
• Research terminology to ensure translation accuracy and consistency
• Assure the quality and accuracy of translated documents before submission

• Secondary education with six years of relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree with three years
• Professional English–Bahasa Indonesia translation and simultaneous interpretation experience
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia

• Bachelor’s degree in Indonesian studies, English literature, gender and women’s studies or a related field
• Familiarity with gender equality and justice-system terminology in Indonesia
