Job Description

Supports UN Women online to translate, review and edit six technical Chilean documents on gender and climate-change policy from Spanish into English. The volunteer team translates and cross-reviews documents, resolves terminology and editorial issues, incorporates feedback, ensures conceptual precision and institutional consistency, prepares final versions for policy use, and applies.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Translate assigned technical documents from Spanish into English
  • Cross-review documents translated by the other volunteer
  • Resolve terminology conceptual and editorial issues with peers
  • Incorporate agreed feedback into final translations
  • Ensure accuracy consistency and institutional language
  • Prepare tables figures and technical elements for final publications

Role Requirements

  • University degree in translation communication philology linguistics international relations social sciences or related field
  • Technical academic or institutional translation and review experience
  • Excellent written Spanish and English Portuguese or French
  • Technical-document translation and review capability

Desired Criteria

  • Translation-assisted-tool or artificial-intelligence experience
  • Technical-publication copyediting experience
  • Gender equality climate change public policy sustainable development or environmental experience
