Job Description
Provide simultaneous and consecutive English–Spanish interpretation support for UNESCO’s Educación para pasados violentos event in Guatemala. The consultant supplies and manages interpretation equipment for workshop participants, installs and tests audio equipment, supports two museum visits, and controls distribution and return of headsets while delivering interpretation throughout the event.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide simultaneous English–Spanish interpretation during four workshop days
- Supply rental simultaneous-interpretation equipment for 45 participants
- Test sound and install equipment before the event
- Manage distribution, control and return of participant headsets
- Provide consecutive interpretation during two museum visits
- Facilitate interaction between venue guides and the delegation
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in translation or a related field
- Certified English–Spanish sworn interpreter and translator
- More than 20 years of interpretation experience
- Experience coordinating interpretation equipment for groups of more than 40 people
Desired Criteria
- Technical or multidisciplinary training in computer science or social sciences
