Job Description
UNESCO seeks an Investigador/a cualitativo/a to lead qualitative research on school transitions and socioemotional development for the Horizontes Amazonía programme. The consultant will close an existing study, analyse 2025 qualitative data, compare Lima and Iquitos, draft a research article and translate findings into education-policy recommendations. Summary of Responsibilities
- Complete the editorial review of the qualitative socioemotional-skills study
- Develop the research questions, literature review and theoretical framework on transition from primary to secondary school
- Review coding and analyse 2025 qualitative data from student drawings, focus groups and interviews
- Compare transition conditions between Metropolitan Lima and Iquitos
- Draft the research article and policy recommendations for school management, teaching and family support
- Present findings to UNESCO and programme partners
Role Requirements
- Professional university degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Education, Psychology, Statistics, Economics or a related social-science discipline
- Master’s degree in education policy, education, social sciences or a related field
- At least seven years of professional experience in social or educational research
- Native or advanced Spanish proficiency
- Advanced English reading comprehension and academic-writing proficiency
- Applicants must be entitled to work in Perú
