Summary of Responsibilities

  • Undertake and develop front-line research projects in the field
  • Mentor post-doctoral fellows, visitors and student researchers
  • Teach diploma and international programmes and supervise student theses
  • Report research results at international meetings
  • Organise ICTP scientific activities and outreach in developing countries
  • Apply for and manage individual research grants

Role Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent advanced degree in Physics or a related discipline
  • At least four years of relevant experience in condensed matter, statistical physics or a related field
  • Internationally recognised research achievements in quantum many-body systems, quantum information processing or quantum technologies
  • Excellent spoken and written English

Desired Criteria

  • International research experience focused on developing countries
