Job Description

Develop and validate remote tools that complement Guatemala's health-management information system for UNICEF. The consultant will use local data to rebuild individual trajectories for the first thousand days of life, automate same-day alerts, and strengthen data-driven decisions and care for pregnant people and children under five across vaccination, growth, nutrition and identity services.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develop technological tools that complement Guatemala's health-management information system
  • Use local data to reconstruct individual trajectories during the first thousand days of life
  • Generate automated alerts on the day information is entered
  • Strengthen data-driven decision-making for vaccination, growth monitoring, nutritional supplementation and identity services
  • Translate technical requirements into operational requirements
  • Train health personnel

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree in public health information-system development
  • At least 10 years of experience developing or implementing information systems
  • Spanish

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with health-sector project implementation
  • Experience with health information systems such as SIGSA
  • Experience designing nominal or longitudinal systems
  • Experience working with first-level health services
