Job Description

Provides safe and reliable transport for UNESCO staff and official visitors in Chad while supporting field travel, airport transfers, mail and goods delivery. The role maintains vehicle readiness, documentation, cleanliness, fuel and mileage records, performs minor repairs, prepares equipment for missions and follows UN security standards and national traffic rules to keep office and programme movements running safely and punctually.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Transport UNESCO staff and official visitors safely
  • Support field travel, airport transfers and immigration formalities
  • Deliver official mail, parcels, goods and project supplies
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, documentation and daily readiness
  • Record fuel use, mileage and maintenance information in the logbook
  • Inspect vehicles and prepare safety and mission equipment before travel
  • Perform minor repairs and report major maintenance requirements
  • Submit a detailed report within 48 hours of any accident

Role Requirements

  • Primary school completion certificate
  • Valid category A, B and D driving licences
  • At least five years of driving experience
  • Impeccable driving record
  • Good knowledge of local driving rules and conditions
  • Ability to perform minor vehicle repairs
  • Ability to work beyond normal hours and under pressure

Desired Criteria

  • Previous experience within the United Nations system
