Driver

Provides safe, reliable daily transport and practical operational support for UNOPS project teams and visitors in Kampala. The driver maintains vehicles and records, assists travellers at the airport, responds to accidents, and supports office procurement, inventory and facility-maintenance tasks while applying security, protocol and service standards.

• Provide safe and timely transport for authorised personnel, cargo and hazardous goods
• Collect and deliver mail, documents and other required items
• Meet and assist assigned personnel at the airport
• Maintain vehicle logs and contribute to maintenance plans
• Perform routine vehicle checks and coordinate repairs
• Keep vehicles roadworthy and safeguard documents and supplies
• Respond to accidents under organisational rules
• Support procurement, inventory and facility-maintenance activities

• Secondary school with two years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with no relevant experience
• Driver’s training and a valid driver’s licence
• Experience in safe driving, defensive driving and minor vehicle repair
• Knowledge of driving rules and regulations
• Fluent English and native Luganda

• Experience working in multicultural environments or UN-system organisations in a developing country
