The role plans purchasing activity, prepares solicitations and contracts, evaluates suppliers, manages purchase orders and invoices, monitors delivery and performance, maintains procurement records, supports audits and coordinates with programme, finance and administration colleagues to deliver timely, transparent and cost-efficient sourcing.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Maintain procurement compliance with UNESCO financial and purchasing rules
- Consolidate annual procurement plans and monitor purchasing performance
- Research, register and evaluate suppliers
- Prepare solicitations, tender evaluations, negotiations and procurement submissions
- Prepare contracts and amendments and monitor signatures, delivery and execution
- Process purchase orders and coordinate invoice resolution and supplier payments
- Maintain complete procurement records and support audits and compliance reviews
- Coordinate acquisition and maintenance of office assets and equipment
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in procurement, economics, accounting, finance, public administration or an equivalent field
- At least three years of relevant experience in procurement, logistics or similar work
- Very good command of French or English, spoken and written
- Very good knowledge of an ERP system such as SAP or Oracle
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Desired Criteria
- Experience in the United Nations system, particularly UNESCO
- Experience in United Nations or NGO financial environments
- Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency
- Intermediate knowledge of financial ERP software
- Knowledge of UNESCO rules, procedures, normative instruments and programmes
