Driver

The OHCHR Regional Office for Southern Africa seeks a Driver in Pretoria to provide safe transport and vehicle support for authorised personnel. The role handles deliveries, airport formalities, vehicle maintenance and trip records, while supporting basic data and information materials. It requires safe professional driving experience, a valid licence and local recruitment eligibility.

• Drive vehicles safely to transport authorised personnel
• Make pickups and deliveries of parcels, diplomatic pouches and documents between UN offices and institutions
• Meet official personnel at the airport and facilitate immigration and customs formalities
• Maintain assigned vehicles, including checks of oil, water, battery and brakes
• Perform minor repairs, arrange other repairs and keep vehicles clean
• Log official trips, mileage, fuel use and maintenance activities
• Assist with data collection, presentations, reports and information materials

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Driver training and a valid driver’s licence
• At least two years of professional continuous driving experience with a proven safe driving record
• Experience driving a variety of vehicles, including vans and other motorised vehicles
• English is required
• Authorisation to work for the United Nations in the duty station

• Experience providing driving services to senior officials, diplomats or VIPs
• Experience in defensive driving, diplomatic protocol and first aid
• Experience with United Nations entities, diplomatic missions or similar organisations
