Job Description
Provide safe, reliable transport and logistical support to the Political Affairs Service of the United Nations Mission in Afghanistan. The driver moves personnel, documents and goods, maintains assigned vehicles, supports field-trip preparation and follows security, safety and accident procedures while assisting official visitors and ensuring daily transport operations remain dependable in Kabul.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Deliver parcels and documents between offices and institutions
- Make minor purchases and collect urgent supplies from local suppliers
- Collect goods from customs while observing regulations and formalities
- Drive authorised personnel safely
- Collect and deliver mail, documents and other items
- Meet official personnel at the airport
- Inspect and maintain assigned vehicles and arrange repairs
- Log fuel consumption and maintenance and follow accident procedures
Role Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid category B driver's licence
- At least two years of driving experience with a safe driving record
- Experience driving armoured vehicles
- English, Dari and Pashto at the required United Nations language level
- Authorisation to work for the United Nations in the Kabul duty station
Desired Criteria
- Post-secondary technical or vocational qualification in a relevant field
- Ground transport-management training or experience
- Experience with the United Nations system or similar international organisations
- Experience driving vans and other types of motorised vehicles
