Job Description
Provides regional technical, compliance and operational support for IFRC's Disaster Response Emergency Fund in Africa. The role guides National Societies and delegations through DREF processes, strengthens capacity and quality assurance, and turns operational performance evidence into timely decisions, learning and improvements across emergency response operations.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Guide National Societies and delegations on DREF modalities, allocation requests and anticipatory-action funding
- Advise on eligibility and compliance for DREF grants, loans and Emergency Appeal processes
- Facilitate technical inputs and validation for DREF allocations
- Coordinate with project managers to oversee DREF compliance, operational plans and reporting
- Coach National Societies and IFRC staff on DREF requests, procedures and quality standards
- Review final reports and analyse DREF performance, timeliness and reporting data
- Represent DREF in delegated technical discussions with partners and stakeholders
Role Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Disaster Management, International Development or another relevant subject
- Three to five years of progressively responsible disaster-management experience across multiple country contexts
- Experience using IFRC planning, reporting and finance tools
- Experience in programme design, project management and reporting for disaster response
- Fluent spoken and written English
