Job Description
Builds data science, quantitative research and AI-enabled analytical products for the World Bank's Department for Outcomes. The consultant develops outcome indicators, forecasting and data pipelines; turns operational evidence into decision-ready insights, dashboards and executive materials; and supports workstreams that improve how the institution measures and manages development results.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop and quality-assure outcome indicators and methodologies using data collection, cleaning and analysis
- Formulate and monitor outcome targets and forecast portfolio trajectories
- Build and maintain AI-enabled analytical tools, data pipelines and intelligent products
- Author methodological notes, indicator reference sheets and technical guidance
- Analyze outcome metrics and portfolio results for senior-leadership decision support
- Create executive slide decks, briefs, dashboards, talking points and briefing memos
- Contribute to corporate action plans and thematic outcome workstreams
- Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, milestones and delivery timelines across analytical workstreams
Role Requirements
- Master's degree in data science, computer science, economics, statistics, applied mathematics, information systems, public policy, public administration, international development, business management or a related quantitative field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in data science, analytics, results measurement, monitoring and evaluation, portfolio management, management consulting, development finance or public policy
- High proficiency in Python and SQL
- Strong applied knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning, NLP and modern LLM workflows
- Full professional fluency in written and spoken English
Desired Criteria
- Ph.D. is an advantage
- Management consulting or portfolio-management experience with senior executive audiences is an advantage
- Proficiency in R or Stata is an asset
- Working proficiency in French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian or Chinese is an asset

Additional Information
- Up to four Data Scientist Extended Term Consultants may be selected
- Selected consultants work on-site at World Bank Group headquarters in Washington, D.C.
- Extended Term appointment is subject to a three-year lifetime maximum
