Job Description
Manages data and data-related functions for NATO Allied Land Command, enabling informed decisions through data strategy, governance and protection. The role develops data engineering and analytical capability, maintains data lakes and toolsets, advances machine-learning approaches and supports stakeholders with information services that strengthen land-domain readiness and interoperability.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Prioritize data security and privacy across LANDCOM data functions
- Establish and maintain a data-governance framework
- Scale cloud and hybrid data solutions and accelerate AI and machine-learning integration
- Support analysts and maintain data stores and tools for processing and analysis
- Execute data-engineering processes for data pipelines
- Maintain and update data lakes with system owners to keep data available for analysis
- Develop data-science toolsets, metrics and machine-learning approaches with the data-science team
Role Requirements
- University degree in a listed technical discipline with two years of related experience, or higher secondary education with advanced vocational training and four years of related experience
- At least four years of data-engineering and CIS-systems-design experience at a major CIS company
- Four years' experience determining CIS needs and monitoring CIS-system performance in a large organisation
- English SLP 3333
- Nationals of a NATO member country
Desired Criteria
- Five to ten years leading major ICT transformation programmes at senior executive-management level
- Experience managing the data lifecycle, data strategies and governance
- Experience using data analytics to identify gaps and inconsistencies
- Military command or equivalent executive leadership experience
- Security clearance and medical certificate before appointment
