Job Description
Provides leadership and risk oversight for IFRC’s Ebola epidemic response in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Reporting to the Head of Delegation, the coordinator will guide emergency priorities, humanitarian diplomacy, National Society and donor engagement, risk governance and institutional representation while supervising operations to keep the response coherent, adaptive and locally led.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight and direction for the Ebola epidemic emergency operation
- Set response priorities, objectives, scenarios, transition strategies and recovery planning
- Represent IFRC with agencies, public authorities and coordination bodies
- Align priorities across IFRC networks, ICRC and the global Secretariat
- Ensure compliance with the Emergency Response Framework and organisational policies
- Support DRC Red Cross leadership, capacity strengthening and strategic positioning
- Oversee risk, safeguarding, security and duty-of-care governance
Role Requirements
- University graduate degree in management or a relevant area
- IMPACT training or equivalent
- At least 10 years of disaster-management experience, including staff management
- Experience in large-scale epidemic response and volatile or insecure areas
- Fluent spoken and written French and English
Desired Criteria
- Good command of another IFRC official language such as French, Spanish or Arabic
