Summary of Responsibilities
- Lead Targeted Emergency Food Assistance operations, including planning, budgets, pipelines and expenditure controls
- Manage cooperating-partner selection, negotiations, monitoring and formal evaluations
- Lead and strengthen the Emergency Food Assistance team and field collaboration
- Coordinate household retargeting and digital identity assurance measures
- Drive appropriate transition to digital cash transfers
- Advance social-protection interoperability and cash-transfer mechanisms with UN and financial-institution partners
- Lead emergency preparedness and represent WFP in Rapid Response Mechanism coordination
- Represent WFP in sector coordination and donor discussions
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in international relations, development studies, economics, social sciences, business administration or another relevant field
- Minimum seven years of progressive professional experience in humanitarian operations, emergency programme management or food-security assistance
- Fluency in spoken and written English
Desired Criteria
- Experience leading large-scale cash-based or in-kind operations in complex, high-risk or conflict-affected settings
- Experience in the Middle East region or Yemen
- Working knowledge or intermediate proficiency in Arabic
