Supports WFP Lao PDR's emergency preparedness and response portfolio by coordinating implementation, data, reporting and stakeholder engagement. The post strengthens readiness, cash-based transfers and disaster-management capacity through work with government, partners and WFP operational teams, helping deliver timely, accountable assistance to disaster-affected communities.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Support emergency preparedness and response activities through in-kind food and cash-based transfers
- Prepare analytical reports, programme updates and data analysis on assistance needs, resources, beneficiaries and performance
- Record and report beneficiary, monitoring, distribution and programme data in SCOPE and COMET
- Coordinate implementation and monitoring with WFP logistics, supply chain, finance, RAM and field-office teams
- Engage government counterparts, local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and development partners
- Strengthen capacity of WFP staff, cooperating partners and government counterparts on emergency preparedness and response
- Support contingency planning, pre-positioning and rapid deployment to maintain crisis-response readiness
- Organise workshops, training sessions, field missions and stakeholder meetings for programme delivery
Role Requirements
- University degree in Emergency Preparedness and Response, Disaster Management, Social Sciences or another field relevant to international development assistance, or related work experience and training
- Six years of progressively responsible work with UN agencies, NGOs or CSOs in rural development, disaster-risk management or related development fields
- Fluency in oral and written English and Lao
Desired Criteria
- Experience implementing rural development, food security, nutrition or disaster-risk management programmes
- Proficiency with Canva or another graphic design programme
