Job Description

Coordinates field testing and analysis for UNICEF’s MICS Foundational Learning Module 2.0 in Zimbabwe. The national consultant manages school and household tests, supports guidance for the MICS 8 rollout, leads secondary analysis and documentation of learning data, and provides technical assistance on survey operations, repositories and evidence use to the Zimbabwe Country Office.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate school-based and household field tests of the Foundational Learning Module
  • Support finalisation and dissemination of guidance for MICS 8 rollout
  • Lead secondary analysis of Zimbabwe MICS 7 learning data
  • Maintain analysis outputs, code, indicator documentation and repository entries
  • Provide technical support on MICS, learning assessment and evidence use
  • Coordinate with ZIMSTAT, education authorities and UNICEF partners

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences, demography, statistics, epidemiology or a related technical field
  • At least five years of experience in survey planning, budgeting and questionnaire customisation
  • Knowledge of Shona or Ndebele and proficiency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Familiarity with UNICEF or UN data governance and information-security protocols
