Job Description

The OSCE Secretariat seeks a temporary Communications Assistant in Vienna to meet demand for communications services and digital content. The assistant will produce materials, run corporate social-media campaigns, update the public website, support field offices, respond to media enquiries, create photo and video content, and coordinate communication delivery across the Organization.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Produce communications materials across multiple channels
  • Create corporate social-media content and campaigns
  • Maintain content on the OSCE public website
  • Provide communications helpdesk support to OSCE operations
  • Respond to media and public enquiries
  • Record, edit and publish photography and video content
  • Prepare news articles, media advisories, press releases and newsletters
  • Coordinate communications activities with Organization-wide focal points
  • Support basic graphic design, image editing and video editing

Role Requirements

  • Completed secondary education
  • Three years of relevant journalism, communications, public-information, digital-communications or multimedia-production experience
  • Professional fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication
  • Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Nationals of an OSCE participating State

Desired Criteria

  • Training in communications, journalism, multimedia production or a related field
  • Experience writing, editing and preparing communications materials
  • Experience with social-media management and website content management
  • Experience with photography, video production, visual design or multimedia production
