Child Protection Specialist

UNICEF seeks a Child Protection Specialist to strengthen child-protection programmes and systems in Sri Lanka. Reporting to the Chief of Child Protection, the post provides guidance and programme-management support across planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. It works with government and partners to deliver interventions and uphold children’s rights and well-being.

• Support child-protection programme and project development and planning
• Manage programme monitoring and delivery of results
• Provide technical and operational support to programme implementation
• Build networks and partnerships for child protection
• Support innovation, knowledge management and capacity building

• Advanced degree in international development, psychology, sociology, law, human rights, international law or related field
• At least 5 years of professional experience in child protection or social development planning and management
• Proficiency in English
• Sri Lankan nationals only

• Knowledge of another official UN language or Sinhala or Tamil
• Experience in a UN system agency or organization
• Experience in a developing country
• Expertise in child-rights monitoring
• Experience in resource mobilization
• Experience supporting child-protection reforms and partnerships
