Job Description
UNICEF seeks a Child Protection Specialist to strengthen child-protection programmes and systems in Sri Lanka. Reporting to the Chief of Child Protection, the post provides guidance and programme-management support across planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. It works with government and partners to deliver interventions and uphold children’s rights and well-being.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Support child-protection programme and project development and planning
- Manage programme monitoring and delivery of results
- Provide technical and operational support to programme implementation
- Build networks and partnerships for child protection
- Support innovation, knowledge management and capacity building
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in international development, psychology, sociology, law, human rights, international law or related field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in child protection or social development planning and management
- Proficiency in English
- Sri Lankan nationals only
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of another official UN language or Sinhala or Tamil
- Experience in a UN system agency or organization
- Experience in a developing country
- Expertise in child-rights monitoring
- Experience in resource mobilization
- Experience supporting child-protection reforms and partnerships
