Job Description
The Building Area Warden supports facilities management at NATO Joint Force Command Brunssum. The role inspects and maintains buildings, coordinates contractors and host-nation support, acts as a contact for building users, helps optimise climate and electrical systems, manages locks and safes, and ensures health and safety compliance across the base and its facilities.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Carry out tasks assigned by the Facilities Team Leader
- Inspect buildings, oversee planned preventive maintenance and control external-contractor quality
- Support optimisation of climate-control systems and electrical installations
- Act as the contact point for building users on maintenance work orders
- Provide building information to design and repair teams and host-nation support
- Carry out basic refurbishment work in buildings
- Install, replace and maintain locks and cut replacement keys across the base
- Ensure health and safety protocols are followed by the facility team, contractors and building users
Role Requirements
- Secondary education and completed vocational training in a related field
- Good oral and written English
- Good oral and written Dutch
- At least three years of facilities-maintenance experience, including a work-order system
- Experience controlling building heating and electrical systems
- Ability to work at heights
- Valid category B driving licence
- NATO security clearance before an employment offer is released
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of structural, mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience in a military or international organisation
