Job Description

Provides client services and pension-benefit administration for participants, retirees and beneficiaries of the UN Joint Staff Pension Fund. The role researches entitlement cases, processes benefit actions and verifications, and supports accurate, confidential client communications, data analysis and operational procedures within the Client Services Section.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide participants, retirees, beneficiaries and member-organization staff with information on participation, entitlements and benefits
  • Research client cases and ensure responses comply with pension regulations, rules and the Pension Adjustment System
  • Process administrative actions on residence evidence, pension-right transfers and benefit applications
  • Monitor Certificate of Entitlement verifications, releases, suspensions and benefit actions
  • Run and audit pension-benefit estimates, entitlement options and monthly benefit activations or terminations
  • Process Emergency Fund assistance applications and standardise client-service procedures
  • Collect and analyse data, prepare reports and information materials, and train staff and external users

Role Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in employee benefits administration or a related area, reduced to five years for candidates with a first-level university degree or higher
  • English at UN Level II
  • Authorization to work for the United Nations at the New York duty station
  • Proof of citizenship, permanent residency, legal status or work authorization
