Job Description

Support UNDP Algeria's social-and-solidarity-economy project in Batna by coordinating procurement, logistics, communications and activity monitoring. The field monitoring assistant will maintain supplier and initiative records, organise workshops and field visits, prepare project documentation, monitor expenditure and grant-supported initiatives, and liaise with authorities, media and partners.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Conduct supplier prospecting and maintain supplier lists for local procurement
  • Support procurement budgeting and preparation of terms of reference or specifications
  • Verify payment files for completeness and compliance with UNDP rules
  • Manage confidential project documents and archives for the concerned wilaya
  • Organise logistics for workshops, follow-up meetings, training, seminars and project field visits
  • Prepare project correspondence, meeting records, activity reports and communication materials
  • Monitor local project expenditure, grant-supported initiatives and the database of social-and-solidarity-economy project holders

Role Requirements

  • Secondary education in management sciences, or a bachelor's degree in commercial sciences, management sciences, logistics, administration or a related field
  • At least 5 years of logistics, procurement and purchasing experience with secondary education, or at least 2 years with a bachelor's degree
  • Understanding of the Algerian context and Algerian regulations
  • Fluency in French and Arabic and working knowledge of English

Desired Criteria

  • Strong organisational, analytical, research, data-collection, writing and communication skills
  • Knowledge of social and solidarity economy foundations or social entrepreneurship
  • Experience with automated procurement systems
  • Experience managing web-based management systems
