Animateur/trice de proximité

UNDP seeks a UN Volunteer as a community focal point for PIRRCF climate-resilience work in Djougou, Copargo, or Ouaké, Benin. Working with specialists and local partners, the volunteer will strengthen agricultural clusters, support resilient production and local-material initiatives, collect monitoring data, and coordinate infrastructure and capacity-building activities.

• Diagnose each identified cluster and develop its capacity-building plan
• Support implementation of capacity-building plans with MAEP specialist structures
• Develop and implement activity-monitoring plans for each cluster
• Support resilient and integrated production systems for target young people and women entrepreneurs
• Organize training on resilient production and by-product transformation techniques
• Collect target-group information using monitoring forms
• Support local-material production units and resilient community infrastructure
• Contribute to project learning and an interventions-and-impacts database

• At least one year of relevant national experience in agribusiness, market studies, management, or business development
• Knowledge of agricultural entrepreneurship
• Ability to speak the principal vernacular language of the selected agricultural development hub
• Availability to start immediately and freedom from other commitments
• Ability to ride an off-road motorcycle

• Knowledge of GIS and GPS is an asset
• Knowledge of youth employment, agricultural diversification, and Benin's institutional environment is an asset
• Knowledge of farmers' organizations and local socio-economic conditions is an asset
