Job Description

UNDP Madagascar seeks a Value Chain Development Analyst in Antananarivo. The analyst will map value chains, analyse trade flows and market opportunities, design investment and action plans, promote AfCFTA access, support entrepreneurship and local partners, advance inclusive growth, coordinate knowledge management and strengthen programme delivery on sustainable energy and economic transformation.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyse baseline data on targeted value chains
  • Map value-chain actors, product flows and value added
  • Identify investment priorities and operational action plans
  • Promote foreign trade and AfCFTA market opportunities
  • Organize buyer-seller meetings and B2B platforms
  • Implement entrepreneurship-promotion strategies
  • Document lessons learned and technical best practices

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in management, economics, international trade, economic engineering, agronomy, agroeconomics or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree plus two additional years of relevant experience may replace the advanced degree
  • At least 2 years of experience in value-chain development, foreign-trade promotion, entrepreneurship or private-sector development
  • French and Malagasy proficiency
