Job Description

NATO’s Administrative Tribunal seeks an Assistant in Brussels to manage administrative and legal documentation, carry out legal research, support Tribunal sessions and financial work, maintain information systems and correspondence, and coordinate with NATO-wide officials and external stakeholders under the AT Registrar’s supervision. The role supports Tribunal administration and project work.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Prepare administrative and legal documents under the AT Registrar’s supervision
  • Conduct legal research in international administrative law
  • Draft and proofread routine correspondence and analyse case-related documents
  • Process documents, maintain the Tribunal agenda and support day-to-day administration
  • Maintain filing, follow-up and information portals for Tribunal work
  • Support Tribunal sessions and project work
  • Execute budget transfers, input ERP data and produce financial summary reports

Role Requirements

  • Higher-secondary education and 4 years of post-related experience, or upper vocational training, a post-secondary degree or a university law degree with 2 years of post-related experience
  • Administrative experience in a legal office including event, project-management and financial-support duties
  • Experience conducting legal research in a legal office
  • Advanced proficiency in one of English or French and elementary proficiency in the other
  • Working knowledge of standard software applications
  • Nationality of a NATO member country

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in an international organisation or international environment
  • Experience with project-management software, webpages or SharePoint
  • Strong written and oral communication and ability to synthesise voluminous information
