Job Description

Provides technical support to UNICEF’s WASH programme in Gaza, with emphasis on implementing partnerships. The Officer plans, manages, monitors and evaluates water, sanitation and hygiene results; coordinates government, utilities, NGOs and cluster actors; supports humanitarian preparedness and hygiene promotion; and strengthens partner oversight, reporting, accountability and WASH solutions.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support WASH programme development and planning
  • Manage, monitor and deliver WASH programme results
  • Coordinate implementing partners and WASH-sector actors
  • Provide technical support for WASH implementation
  • Support humanitarian preparedness and response
  • Build partnerships, capacity and knowledge management

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in public health, social science, behavioural science, civil, sanitary or environmental engineering or a related field
  • At least 2 years of WASH, humanitarian-assistance, public-health or partnership-management experience
  • Experience coordinating WASH cluster actors, government, municipalities, utilities, UN agencies, NGOs or service providers
  • Fluency in English and Arabic

Desired Criteria

  • Integrated UNICEF and WASH-cluster programme experience
  • Technical leadership and field-team supervision
  • Hygiene promotion and social-behaviour-change experience
  • HACT, programme-agreement and direct-cash-transfer experience
  • Localised and decentralised WASH intervention experience
