Training Material Development Support – Solid and Plastic Waste Management

The Online Volunteer supports UNEP India in developing technically sound training materials on solid and plastic waste management for diverse stakeholder groups. Over a three-month assignment, the volunteer reviews environmental references, drafts and adapts learning products, validates technical content, and contributes to a consolidated capacity-building package cleared by UNEP.

• Review technical documents, regulations, guidelines and reports for training content
• Compile and organize information on solid and plastic waste management
• Prepare draft content for presentations and learning materials
• Simplify technical information into learning points for different stakeholder groups
• Develop slides, facilitator notes, handouts, exercises and checklists
• Review training materials for technical consistency, completeness and referencing
• Incorporate UNEP comments and technical feedback into revised materials

• Enrollment in a bachelor’s-level university degree programme or completion of a university degree
• Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Waste Management, Sustainability, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Policy or a closely related field
• Good academic understanding of environmental issues
• Research, writing and analytical skills
• Proficiency with standard word-processing and presentation software
• English

• Academic exposure or demonstrated interest in solid or plastic waste management
• Coursework, research, internships or volunteering related to waste management, recycling, circular economy or resource efficiency
• Experience or interest in developing training, educational or capacity-building materials
