Job Description

The Technical Report Writing Consultant supports UNICEF’s Gender Equality Section to compile and draft reporting products. The assignment produces reports on the UN System-Wide Action Plan, the Gender Equality Action Plan’s annual progress and global annual results, synthesising varied content into high-quality products for diverse audiences under defined formats and tight deadlines.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Compile and draft key written products fulfilling institutional and interagency reporting obligations
  • Prepare the UN System-Wide Action Plan report on gender equality performance for the Chief Executives Board for Coordination
  • Prepare the annual progress report on the Gender Equality Action Plan for the UNICEF Executive Board
  • Develop the Global Annual Results Report for donors, partners and the public
  • Synthesize content from varied sources into high-quality products with defined formats and rapid turnaround

Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, gender studies, international relations, public policy or communications
  • At least ten years of progressively responsible professional experience
  • Excellent writing skills with experience writing gender-related reports, including on gender and health or education
  • Experience working in an international agency, the United Nations or another international institution
  • Ability to work independently and with a multicultural, interdisciplinary team
  • Adherence to Do No Harm principles and ethics
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Full fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Working knowledge of French or Spanish
  • Past UNICEF experience in children’s rights, women’s and girls’ empowerment or gender equality
