Job Description

Coordinates technical support and capacity-building for the UN Global Disability Fund’s country programmes, focusing on disability-inclusive urban development, climate action and health equity. The specialist helps Country Teams design, implement and monitor programmes, assures the quality of outputs and knowledge products, and turns lessons into training and guidance.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support Country Teams and partners to design and implement disability-inclusive programmes
  • Provide technical inputs during joint-programme design, inception and implementation
  • Coordinate capacity-building for partners, UN entities and organizations of persons with disabilities
  • Develop accessible training materials, guidance and knowledge resources
  • Monitor implementation against Fund standards and support quality assurance of outputs
  • Document lessons and facilitate cross-country exchanges, communities of practice and webinars
  • Contribute to programme monitoring reports and knowledge products

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in social policy, public policy, political science, economics, urban development, development studies, human rights law, disability studies or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional qualifying years
  • At least five years of international development-cooperation experience supporting CRPD implementation
  • Experience designing and implementing disability-rights programmes in developing-country contexts
  • Experience with organizations of persons with disabilities and underrepresented disability groups
  • Fluency in English

  • Capacity-development experience on human rights and disability inclusion
  • Gender-transformative and intersectional programming experience
  • Experience related to climate action, sustainable cities, urban development or health equity
  • Quality-assurance experience
  • Another UN official language
