Job Description

Provides technical leadership to help Member States strengthen rehabilitation, disability-inclusive health, assistive technology and long-term-care services. The role advances people-centred health-system policies, standards and cooperation programmes, supports continuity of care during emergencies, and builds workforce capacity to improve equitable access to quality services across the region.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement national policies, programmes and plans on rehabilitation, disability-inclusive health, assistive technology and long-term care
  • Advise on technical cooperation programmes covering primary-health-care reform, health governance and service delivery
  • Support standards for integrated health-service networks, rehabilitation facilities and health-system infrastructure
  • Assist Member States to integrate rehabilitation and assistive technology into emergency preparedness and response
  • Build workforce capacity through planning, training and rehabilitation-focused capacity-building activities
  • Develop health information and knowledge products to guide rehabilitation and long-term-care decision-making

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree in public health, health systems or services administration, health management, social sciences or a related field
  • At least seven years of relevant international experience in health systems and service delivery
  • Experience in rehabilitation, assistive technology, disability or long-term care and addressing barriers to health-care access
  • Expert knowledge of English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in low- or middle-income countries
  • Experience developing, planning, implementing and evaluating health-systems programmes focused on rehabilitation, disability, assistive technology or long-term care
