Job Description
The Advisor leads PAHO's technical cooperation to strengthen pharmaceutical regulatory systems across the Americas. Working with Member States, regulatory authorities and partners, the role advances regulatory convergence, capacity building and evidence-based policy advice, while linking medicines and vaccine regulation with regional initiatives that improve access to safe, quality health technologies.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Lead regional technical cooperation to strengthen national and regional pharmaceutical regulatory systems
- Guide implementation of the WHO Global Benchmarking Tool and Institutional Development Plans
- Serve as Technical Secretariat of PANDRH and support regulatory harmonisation initiatives
- Align regulatory strengthening with regional funds and local medicines and vaccine production programmes
- Build partnerships with regulatory authorities, public health institutions and other stakeholders
- Provide technical and policy advice, evidence and reports to support regulatory capacity and decision-making
Role Requirements
- University degree in pharmacy or a related discipline and a master's degree in regulatory affairs, public health or a related health science
- Nine years of national and international experience in pharmaceutical regulation programmes and projects
- Fluency in Spanish and English
