Job Description

Supports World Bank project teams in Sri Lanka and the Maldives by coordinating correspondence, meetings, travel, contracts and operational workflows. The role maintains budget and procurement records, follows project-cycle actions and payment milestones, and connects task teams with government counterparts, vendors and internal service units to keep the portfolio moving efficiently.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to industry and task-team leaders and their project teams
  • Coordinate meetings, events, travel arrangements and mission-announcement logistics
  • Prepare consultant contract documentation and track deliverable schedules, payment milestones and clearances
  • Procure supplies, equipment and services and follow vendor deliveries
  • Maintain expenditure records, process invoices and prepare routine budget reports
  • Support project-cycle workflows from concept through implementation and closing
  • Liaise with government counterparts and external stakeholders on meetings, correspondence and mission requirements
  • Maintain filing systems, shared drives and pending-action tracking across the project portfolio

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in a similar office or team-assistant role in a multilingual environment
  • Knowledge of World Bank Group policies and procedures for IBRD or IFC
