Applies structural-engineering expertise to UNOPS water-supply and irrigation infrastructure under Syria’s Nexus Response Mechanism. The role supports assessment, design review, construction supervision and quality control for pumping stations, storage facilities and associated structures, supporting recovery interventions that meet applicable technical, safety and environmental standards.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Design and review structural components, drawings, calculations and scopes of work
- Assess potable-water and irrigation structures including pumping stations and storage facilities
- Prepare design briefs, specifications, bar-bending schedules and bills of quantities
- Conduct structural site inspections and prepare assessment reports
- Develop quality-assurance and quality-control protocols for structural deliverables
- Coordinate structural works with architects, engineers and quantity surveyors
- Monitor design-document delivery and identify potential delays
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with seven years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with five years of relevant experience
- At least five years of experience in structural engineering, construction supervision or design review
- Fluent English language proficiency
