Job Description
The Strategic Health Information Officer strengthens Guinea-Bissau's capacity to generate, analyse and use health data for primary health care, universal health coverage and SDG monitoring. The role leads health-information governance, research coordination and evidence products, while supporting observatories, digital health and country-level decision-making.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Strengthen country capacity for routine health-facility, vital-statistics, surveillance and survey data collection
- Analyse health data and statistics to identify trends and develop attribution and prediction models
- Produce health policy briefs, best-practice documentation and other evidence products for decision-makers
- Coordinate health research with INASA's Advisory Committee and research associations
- Advance health-observatory functions and harmonise digital-health work
- Strengthen governance and data collaboratives for health-information systems
- Generate institutional analytical products for SDG monitoring and WHO impact frameworks
Role Requirements
- Degree in a health-related field with training in biostatistics, demography and/or epidemiology
- Postgraduate degree or qualifications in a public health field
- At least five years' practical experience generating and using strategic health information, health data or statistics
- Expert knowledge of Portuguese or French
Desired Criteria
- Doctorate in health statistics and information systems
- Training or specialization in monitoring and evaluation systems or health informatics
- Experience across multiple countries in strategic health information
- Experience in policy formulation, quality management or strategic planning
