Job Description

Develops bilingual human-interest storytelling for UN Women Palestine's communications and advocacy work. The volunteer interviews beneficiaries and partners, turns programme information into website and social-media content, and adapts stories for multiple digital formats. The assignment helps highlight Palestinian women's experiences, leadership and programme results in Gaza and the West Bank.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Conduct virtual interviews with beneficiaries and partners in Gaza and the West Bank in Arabic and or English
  • Develop human-interest stories, profiles and other storytelling content
  • Draft and edit communications materials in Arabic and English
  • Identify strong story angles, key messages and quotes from interviews and programme information
  • Turn interviews and programme information into engaging website and social-media content
  • Adapt stories into website stories, social-media posts, captions, quote cards and short video scripts
  • Support copywriting, editing and proofreading of communications materials
  • Contribute to communications and advocacy campaigns

Role Requirements

  • Background or studies in communications, journalism, media, languages, digital communications or a related field
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills in Arabic and English
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and coordinate remotely with team members

Desired Criteria

  • Familiarity with Canva, CapCut or other basic design and video-editing tools
