Job Description
UNICEF’s Office of Strategy & Evidence – Innocenti seeks a Statistics and Monitoring Officer to strengthen nutrition monitoring and evidence generation. Based in Florence, the officer will manage and analyze household-survey data, maintain databases and produce statistics for advocacy. The role supports country capacity, publications and digital dissemination while improving data systems, automation and standardization for nutrition evidence.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Manage and analyze nutrition data and household-survey datasets
- Maintain global nutrition databases and produce statistics and estimates for reporting and advocacy
- Provide technical support and training to strengthen national nutrition monitoring capacity
- Contribute to publications and digital dissemination of nutrition data and evidence
- Improve data systems and workflows through automation and standardization
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in public health, nutrition, economics, public policy, epidemiology, statistics, computer sciences or social sciences with strong quantitative training and experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience in nutrition, statistics, economics, public policy or related fields, including household survey data
- Demonstrated experience conducting complex statistical analysis
- Proficiency in English
Desired Criteria
- Experience working with nutrition data and familiarity with data-visualization tools
- Experience with database pipelines, reproducible workflows, automation tools or responsible use of AI-assisted coding or workflow tools
- Relevant country-level experience, particularly in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
