Job Description
Supports UNDP Benin with technical design, audit and supervision of water-supply and borehole works. The hydraulic specialist develops and reviews technical specifications, plans and tender documents; validates procurement files; advises and monitors contractors; organizes site visits and progress reporting; certifies payments and final acceptance; assesses older installations for upgrading;.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Assess design audit and monitor borehole and water-supply works
- Develop and amend technical specifications and plans
- Prepare consultation documents and validate tender files
- Organize contractor preparation meetings and periodic site visits
- Prepare progress reports certify contractor payments and organize final acceptance
- Assess existing installations and define upgrade specifications
Role Requirements
- Engineering degree in hydrology hydraulics hydrogeology or equivalent or master degree
- Seven years with engineering degree or eight years with master degree in hydraulic projects
- Water-supply and borehole audit construction tender-specification and site-supervision expertise
- Fluent French

- Local water-supply and construction-provider collaboration
- Project monitoring with government UN agencies NGOs civil society and international organizations
